Mower of Mowers

In the summer of 2006, my mower Toro did so well so I started looking for a replacement. I went online and read various reviews of mowers, including lawnmowers cordless. I opted to buy another Taurus. A couple of months ago, someone went in my backyard and went with my mower so we spent an afternoon of shopping online for lawnmowers. After considering for hours, I decided to go ahead, throw caution to the wind, and purchase Black & Decker 24 Volt Cordless Mulching Mower # CMM1200. I was not disappointed. My garden is about one third the size of the cut surface of a third acre. I estimate my backyard to be a typical size (not including a house located in a corner). The mower has plenty of power to complete the work. One reviewer complained about the plastic that I found to be solid on the mower. I prefer to have the inside from the bottom of plastic coated steel mower always lose their paint. CMM1200 Another reviewer complained about the missing sections of the lawn. The first attempt, I had the same experience. What you do is beyond the end of the line a bit ', pull pack, then change the direction. Since it is a mulching mower, keep in mind that your lawn needs to be free of moisture when you cut. Furthermore, to maintain the width of the lines the width of the front of the mower (not including the wheels!). Now I have a manicured lawn, which could be on the cover of "American Beautiful Lawn. My lawn is relatively flat, but has a few inclines and I found it very easy to push. The noise level is a bit 'lower than a gas powered lawnmower, which is a big advantage. Some people have complained to remove the CMM1200 the box. All you have to do is open the top, cut the back of the box, remove the pieces of cardboard into the wheels in place, then move it back. He started right out the window, but you must give a full charge before use. I wished I had bought last year (not sure if it was available then). My mower is now in the basement until they need it. Best of all, I do not stink after cutting the grass! A possible negative is that I believe that the CMM1200 to be as powerful as a gas-powered mowers, but to me, the difference is minimal. We hope that this purchase will help combat the environmental problems we are facing. If you were on the fence into consideration the purchase of your property, do not wait more than great!

CMM1200 Black&Decker | very easy to use

First, I would like to thank all who have posted comments above. Were very helpful to know what to expect when my new mower B & D has arrived. I also had previously purchased similar cordless rechargeable lawn and gardening tools (a small hedge trimmer and blower), which reassured me that this electric lawn mower would be a good fit. These items were produced by B & D, so I was familiar with their instructions and packaging - that I have come to interpret as 'the simpler the better'.

Let me clarify one thing - I do not think I would be classified as a typical B & D population. I am a 44 year old female clerk with a passion for gardening weekend. I do my own yard work and appreciate the discovery of these new tools that make work easier and faster. I also like the fact that I can retire my old touchy pull-start machines and gas canisters leaking.

The experience of buying from Amazon was wonderful. I ordered this mower on Tuesday and received an e-mail on Wednesday saying that it would be delivered on Friday. Sure enough, a driver appeared on the appointed day, just three days after placing the order, while I was home for lunch. I had to fall out of the box directly into my garage without me having to lift an ounce. I opened the end of the box and rolled out my new lawnmower. Fifteen minutes later was set up and charging, and I was headed to work.

TIP - Artwork bookmark pages so that after reading the instructions that can quickly flip to the corresponding image. Also, do not think that too - in fact it is incredibly simple.

I used the following morning. I still can not overcome the fast and easy that is to start this mower! No bending, no cord traction, engine coughing and sputtering not. My only concern entering this purchase was that my previous gas-guzzling car was self-propelled, and this new power was not. On a small plot that would not be a problem, but I have a sharp 1 / 4 with some minor but nevertheless significant, changes in grade. My concerns were laid to rest quickly as the lighter and more manoeuvrable machine did the work without adding additional stress to the operator.

Living in an area where smog is a problem. When I learned how much pollution a gas powered mower generates, I was shocked. Currently gave me I feel like I'm asthma in children in the neighborhood so I can have a lawn.

CMM1200 Black&Decker Cordless Lawnmower

I just bought this mower and mowed my lawn today. First, the positives:

1. This thing is as advertised. No assembly required other than organizing the mulching bag and removing the mulcher - if that is what you do.

2. E 'was incredibly easy to start this thing - insert key and lift the lever.

3. No mess, no gas, no oil, no filter. The only maintenance described in the service manual is blade sharpening (once or twice a year) and the replacement of the battery. (Possible two years?).

4. Charging unit as easy as charging cell loading and during the night. It was enough juice to cut my destiny 1/3rd acre with heavy spring weeds that were a little 'wet without running out of battery juice.

5. It 'was very easy to clean. Just unplug the key and then you can turn over to clean the blade and the guard, without worrying about leakage of oil or gas.

6. It is easy to handle and disconnect mulch bag for storage.

Negative

1. Although it is not incredibly heavy, it is not as light as my gas mower 5HP Craftsman. Since there is no propulsion capabilities, you can get heavy if you had to go uphill - my lawn is relatively flat so no problem there.

2. The unit is basically plastic. It is a cheap feeling to it - although I'm sure it would be too heavy, if it is metal.

3. There's really nothing protecting the battery underneath the top cover and is barely held there with a nylon strap.

4. The instruction manual is useless paper. Has little information in it and it is hard to read, because one part is written and you have to go to another part of the manual for the pictures.

5. The unit came with Styrofoam inserts that surrounded the battery. I had a very strong feeling that these inserts were for the shipment and must be removed before using the unit. However, there is nothing in the manual that indicates this way is, and I should have realized alone.

6. There are instructions on how to replace the battery - you are instructed to take it to a dealer service. Perhaps they could make a major effort in the documentation.

7. The mulching bag does not seem to take much grass. I had to flush three times before I was done mowing.

All and all, I love this mower. I hated having to jack with gas and oil and filters and maintenance of gas mowers. Plus, this thing is relatively quiet compared to my gas mower. Take care.

great alternative to gas mowers. lot of plusses

We just moved from a condo to a house that has about 7000 sqm + garden in front and approximately 1500 sqm + garden in the back. Being new to this I have done a lot more research before buying a lawnmower. Our first dilemma was to decide between gas and electric. Few things, which was in comparison, overall gas and electric lawnmowers, were:

- Gas is more powerful than electric. Might be true, but this is never a problem, even if you mow once in 3-4 weeks. We are quite satisfied with the power.
- Management of the cable: You get used to it once you plan the layout and how you mow the lawn. It starts from near the outlet and go far from it. This cable so you always follow and do not run the risk of running over. Although, you should still be alert to it.
- Maintenance: worried much less with trimmers. no gas, no oil, no smell in the garage, no special treatment when storing it away for the season, no servicing before the season
- Operation: easy to use different management of the rope, pull the lever and boot, no need to pull the rope, etc. Some expensive gas mowers are no switches to stop the blades, but leave the engine running when you are emptying the bag of grass, but that does not need anything like that.
- Environment
- Less noisy than gas
- Area of smaller denomination. 18 or 19 inches instead of the standard 22-inch mower with gas.
- Guarantee: Many people mentioned that gas mowers have 4-5 years and an electric motor have 2 years, but most of the mowers now, even the gas, they only have two years of guarantee. Thus, there was a question for us.
- Cordless? first of all, these are slightly heavier because it is bringing the battery, but also appreciate the agreement was to replace the battery after 2 years.

Go with these comparisons, we chose the electric lawnmower and started looking at the different models. Black and Decker stood out with basically 3 models MM 575, 675 and 875. Most stores carry 575 and 875 and I found many reviews of these two models.
The main difference in 575 and 875 model is the coverage area. 575 is 18 "while 875 is 19" so we ended up buying 875. Both are same Amperage (12 AMPS) but the 875 comes with rear bag also. We like the mower and how it works.

- Very easy to get started. They are all together. The handle is turned toward the front, just pull back and tighten two levers and its ready to go.
- A hook near the power plug on the handle so as not to accidentally pull the plug on the extension cable away.
- It 'was very difficult to find the correct template for this extension since there are no guidelines, but after much research here is what I found. It's 12 AMPS and run on 120 volt so its 12x120 = 1440 watts max. So if you run the max at 50 meters distance from the outlet, its very safe to use 14 gauge extension cords (50 feet). If you're doing 100 meters distance from the wall, and then advised to use his 12 gauge (100feet) cable. Although I'm using a 14 gauge cable to 100 meters by 100 meters. I understand that it is not always running at full amperage so it's quite ok. And his good work.
- Mulching: If you plan to mulch, you need to cut at least once in 7-10 days otherwise the grass grows too large
- Getting used to a small area as opposed to 22 inch cut mower with gas. you'll probably do another couple of extra runs based on how big is your lawn.
- 8 points for the cutting. Not that you need fine control over the grass, but it feels good that you have options. Moves up and down all the wheels so its probably better than those that only move the rear wheels
- Lighter: I noticed more flexibility during the ignition and reversed.
- Rear grass bag: a lot of people complained that you need to empty the bag once its 1/3rd full otherwise escaping the grass. I think we can successfully use until 2/3RD and then starts to fall the grass on the sides and making a line. It does not bother me much.

Lawn Hog - Aptly Named-2

In my opinion, this is comparable to a lawnmower mower 6.5HP gas - others may disagree, but I will tell you, this thing is powerful. Cut the grass by cutting cleaner from any mower I have ever owned and does no damage to the grass shoots (until you set the height adjustment to scalp your lawn). Height adjustment of the tip of the fingers is easy.

TIP # 1: To ensure the bag is filled uniformly
With empty purse - cutting for about 2-3 minutes, stop the mower, remove the bag, shake the contents accumulated toward the rear of the bag and put the bag back on the lawn Hog. Now you should be able to cut until the Bagger reaches capacity to fill evenly.

TIP # 2 KEEP THE OUT cable cutting path
Say, for example, you want to cut the grass up and down along the east-to-Western model moving north as you mow. Unwind the cable and accumulate 5-10 meters away from you to the South - now, you are always mowing and departed from the rope until you pull a lot with your turn, the cable does not get in the way.

You may also want to consider purchasing a pair of plastic / steel caps and place them at strategic points on the perimeter of the lawn. Insert the appropriate cable behind the strikers - this will stop the cable from following you and getting in his way - we want experimentation, but eventually you get to know the perfect spot for them that can cut almost as an effort, as with a loosed lawnmower.

TIP # 3 KEEP THE FREE TROLLEY debris BuildUP
It 'important to maintain the shopping ESPECIALLY free and clear of debris mower, the blade - a dull blade will dull a cutting and start destroying your sprouts of grass. This will cause the lawn and let Browning shoots exposed to the disease, rot, insects, etc. In lawncare.scotts.com website (among other things, a wealth of practical information every day is there for all that concerns lawn care, flowers, shrubs, etc.) I came across a tip that suggested:
FINISH MOWER FUND WITH A NON-STICK SPRAY - have suggested non-Stick Oven / Pan spray food would do. I bought a can of spray PAM. The next time you cut the lawn, I first clean the truck as I could by scraping with a 3-inch plastic paint scraper. I was careful not to push the blade too much for fear of throwing out of balance. Then I turned the upside down Hog lawn and leaned against my garage wall (you can not do it with a gas mower, can ya?) And sprayed the inside with a thin layer of PAM (including blade). I set the Lawn Hog down, right up, and waited about 5 minutes to allow the jet to join. (Lawn Hog's cart, which houses the blade is made of plastic so be careful if you use the tools, metal scraping - you can easily put gouge marks in the landing gear, causing even worse accumulation of dirt, grass, etc. unbalance the blade making more difficult to clean). Then I cut my entire lawn. When I was done, I supported the Lawn Hog against the fence and was happy to find minimal grass / dirt accumulation. I'm busy with my 3-inch plastic paint scraper and scraping came out with a nominal effort. Even the residue on the blade came off easily. THIS REALLY WORKS and is relatively inexpensive too!
NOTE: SPRAY COAT FUND YOUR FIRST FIRST USE! Will be followed by cleaning a breeze (I wish I had read about this tip before my first cut).

The Lawn Hog is very lightweight and easy to push. Like the stock builds, it takes a little 'little more effort to push, but for me, is negligible.

Lawn Hog - Aptly Named

I purchased the Lawn Hog 12amp 19" from Amazon.com in April/2005. I have a large yard area. My front and back yards combined equal, at least, approximately 8,000sq. ft.

Over the years, I have had numerous different gas mowers. My last gas mower was a Sears 6.5HP 22" Self-Propelled with a Briggs&Stratton engine.
Pulling 15-20 times to start it (sometimes it took even more pulls) gets very tiring and frustrating! Don't they all claim a "3-push 1-Pull Start"? I decided to search online at Amazon.com for reviews of electric mowers. I hate having to mess with gas, oil, tune-ups, noise, shaking that made my hands numb during mowing (which I finally mitigated by wearing gel-padded cycling gloves).

My grass is "tall fescue" - it grows very thick - I live in the high desert in the Antelope Valley, CA (elev. 2346 ft.). As you can probably guess, it gets quite hot here during mid-to-late summer (105-115+). Even when I start mowing early (9-11am) it is already near 100 degrees so, I searched for the most powerful electric mower I could find. I wanted to make sure my time spent under the sun would not exceed that of a gas powered unit of equal power. Just as other reviewers have stated it arrived in a big box on my front porch. Assembling the handle and attaching the bagger was a snap. It IS a two-prong input into the handle of the Lawn Hog - I already had that type of cord. I plugged it in, pulled up the orange handle up and WHAMO! It roared to power!
